Job role

The Government Relations Officer acts as the liaison between the telecommunications company and various government agencies. The role is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all legal requirements and regulations, fostering positive relationships with government officials, and advocating for policies that benefit the company.

Detailed description of MAIN tasks and KEY responsibilities

  • Maintain regular contact and build strong relationships with key government officials and agencies.
  • Monitor changes in government regulations and policies that may impact the company’s operations.
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary government approvals, licenses, and permits.
  • Draft and submit reports, documents and communications to government agencies as required.

Education and Work Experience (Preferred background)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Lawyer or any related area.
  • 3 years of experience in government relations, public affairs
  • Experience working with government agencies or in a regulatory environment is highly preferred.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of local and national government structures and processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships.
